These services allow you to browse the tables of contents of the latest issue of your favourite journals. Many publishers offer a service that alerts you by email when a journal's most recent table of contents is released. Most services require you to register for the service and then allow you to choose the specific journals you want it to watch for you. Some of such current awareness services are listed below.

| ASAP Alerts |
With American Chemical Society's ASAP Alerts, you can be the first to know when an article is posted to the Web - either the very day it is published as an Article ASAPSM (As Soon As Publishable) or on a weekly basis. This service is especially designed for those who want to know about an article just as soon as it is published. You will receive an e-mail clearly listing the title, author, journal name, and Web publication date with a direct URL link to the full article.

You can receive table of contents alerts as the newest issues of ASCE journals are published. You have the option of receiving alerts in plain text or HTML format (Note:- alerts in HTML format are fully linked to abstracts and full text). This service is free, simply Register with an email address and choose the journals for which you like to receive alerts from the provided list.

| Elsevier Alerting and Awareness Services |
Elsevier Science provides a number of alerting and awareness services in support of its journal publishing programme. Most are available free of charge, some are only available to those at subscribing institutions.
Journal Tables of Contents - provides online tables of contents for more than 1100 Elsevier Science journals, and now offers you these additional features: author index and keyword search facilities PLUS journal volumes and issues listed per year.
ContentsDirect - the free e-mail service which sends book and journal tables of contents directly to your PC, providing you with the very latest information on soon-to-be published research from Elsevier Science.
Other Services - Elsevier Science also offers a number of other subject specific alerting and awareness services in both electronic and paper format.

| Emerald Journals Alert |
Emerald publishes the world's widest range of management and information services journals. It provides personal e-mail notification of new articles published online, ensuring that users are kept up to date with the latest research. You can receive these updates in three ways:
Saved Search Alert - After each search from within Emerald you will be given the option of adding it to your alert profile. Each time new articles are added to the database, you will be sent the brief citations of any new articles that match your search criteria.
ToC (Table of Contents) Alert - This will e-mail you the contents page of any chosen journal whenever the latest issue becomes available online.
Weekly Digests - This service provides you with an e-mail summary of all Emerald Full-text journals updated each week.

| Highwire Press Alerts |
Register for a free account and you can sign up for two types of alerts with Highwire Press, Stanford University's online production of scientific journals. First, you can choose to receive Tables of Contents or notification that an issue has gone online. Second, you can register for alert by email whenever new content is added to Highwire journals dealing with the topics (keywords/subjects, authors, or articles) that you specify.
Just register for the free account under My Email Alerts, wait for your email confirmation (about 5 min.), log in, and complete your profile information for either or both of the alerts you want. You can build separate profiles for each alert and the emails will come with the "alert name" in the subject line.

Sign up IEEE Xplore email alerts to receive regular email notification of recently posted journals and magazines to IEEE Xplore. You choose the titles that you want to know about. Each email contains a direct link to the issues' latest table of contents. To set up an email alert account, please enter name and email address. Click on Submit to begin making your title selection. The email will include as many journals as you choose and the table of contents for each issue. (Note: conference proceedings and standards are not available for email alerts).
